Fonseca Vintage Port 2017 (75cl)

This is Fonseca Vintage Port from the 2017 harvest, in a 75cl bottle. It is a field blend of typical Douro grapes including Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesca, Tinto Cão, Tinta Roriz and Tinta Barroca, aged for about 20 months in used French oak. The fruit comes from three quintas in Pinhão: Panascal, Cruzeiro and Santo António. The nose is dark woodland fruit with fresher red berries, held in check by a slatey minerality, with leafy, balsamic and cedary notes. The palate is dense and dark-berried, round and velvety, with taut tannins and crisp acidity giving structure. The finish is long.
