Foro Rosso Vermouth di Torino (75cl, 16.5%)

Foro Rosso is a sweet red Vermouth di Torino from Piedmont, made by Terre Dei Solari in Asti. It is bottled at 16.5% vol in a 75cl bottle. The base wine blends Moscato with Inzolia, and the vermouth is infused twice with wormwood. The botanicals include saffron, bitter and sweet orange peel, myrrh, mace, rhubarb, sandalwood, cinnamon and gentian. The nose offers caramelised brown sugar, baking spice, white pepper and herbs. The palate is full and rich, with baked raisins, tart cherries, saffron and cinnamon over firm tannins. The finish is medium-long, ending on a clean wormwood bitterness with rhubarb and orange peel.
