Fuji 50th Anniversary Edition Single Malt Japanese Whisky (70cl, 52.5%)

This is a single malt made to mark 50 years of whisky making at Fuji Gotemba Distillery, at the foot of Mount Fuji in Shizuoka, Japan. It is bottled at 52.5% ABV in a 70cl bottle, for the UK market, and 3,000 bottles were produced. The blend draws on malt whisky from five decades: the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s and 2010s. The oldest part was distilled in 1973, the year the distillery began operating. The malts were matured in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels, ex-beer casks, Japanese Mizunara oak, Spanish Oloroso sherry casks and French oak wine casks.
