Fuyu – Mizunara Finish Japanese Whisky (70cl, 45%)

Fuyu is a Japanese whisky made from 50% malt and 50% grain whisky, finished in Mizunara casks. It is bottled at 45% in a 70cl bottle. Mizunara oak is known for its high water content and permeability, and coopers must overcome its tendency to leak and its difficulty to work. The wood is associated with sandalwood and agarwood notes. The nose combines honey and almond, with apricots in honey, caramel pudding and, late on, pineapple and starfruit. The palate brings honey, caramel, light apple and pear, a silky body, coconut custard, vanilla and cinnamon. The finish is warm and long, with Mizunara wood and roasted almond.
