Produced by Distillerie G.E. Massenez in Alsace, France, this crème de cassis belongs to a tradition of French fruit liqueurs dating back to the house's founding in 1870. Only fully ripe blackcurrants from the Burgundy region around Dijon are used. The cassis is slow-macerated in a neutral grape spirit, then gently sweetened to achieve the crème designation. No barrel ageing is applied. It is dark and fruit-driven, with opulent aromatics of ripe blackcurrants, fresh berry compote and subtle violet floral undertones, and a smooth, concentrated palate with gentle sweetness and juicy acidity.
