George Dickel No. 8 is a Tennessee whisky bottled at 40% abv in a 1 litre bottle. Old No. 8 is the expression described as the classic that made George Dickel famous. George Dickel began making whisky in 1870 and believed time was the ingredient he needed most, so the whisky is left to rest for as long as it needs before bottling. He also found that whisky made in the cold winter months tasted smoother. That habit lives on in the chilling of the whisky before it is filtered through sugar-maple charcoal. The result is described as a bold whiskey with a balance of Tennessee flavours.
