Girvan – 35 Year Old Refill Bourbon Barrel Batch 2 (That Boutique-y Whisky Company) (70cl, 45.8%)

This is a 35 year old single grain whisky from Girvan in the Scottish Lowlands, bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company as Batch 2. It comes in a 70cl bottle at 45.8% abv. The whisky matured for the full 35 years in a refill bourbon barrel. It is non-chill-filtered, of natural colour and not smoky. The nose is subtly fruity with soft liquorice. On the palate it is sweet, with pancakes and syrupy vanilla. The finish is long and recalls melted chocolate.
