Glen Elgin – 14 Year Old 2011 Signatory Vintage 100 Proof Edition #82 Oloroso Finish (70cl, 57.1%)

This Glen Elgin was distilled in 2011 and bottled at 14 years old by Signatory Vintage as 100 Proof Edition #82. It comes in a 70cl bottle at a cask strength of 57.1% and is not chill filtered. Glen Elgin is a Speyside distillery that has operated since 1900. The whisky matured first in ex-bourbon casks, then had a finishing period in Oloroso sherry butts. The nose is typically described as dried figs, raisins and dark plums with vanilla, caramel and light floral tones. On the palate come vanilla cream, honey, ripe apple, dried apricot and prune with cinnamon and ginger, and the finish is long, with dark fruit, gentle oak and dark chocolate.
