A 15 year old single malt from Glen Elgin, bottled on 28 January 1988 as one of the Manager's Drams, which were originally produced for the staff and friends of the distillery. It was matured in a sherry cask and bottled at a natural strength of 60.2% ABV.
The nose is richly sherried, with chocolate ganache, cigars, old balsamic vinegar and glazed chestnuts. The palate is oily yet silky, with bitter chocolate, tobacco, bitter oranges, prunes, liquorice and a touch of salt. The finish is extremely long and slightly herbal, with peppermint in the aftertaste.
