Glen Elgin – 16 Year Old 2009 Adelphi Selection (57.1%)

This is a single cask Glen Elgin, a Speyside single malt bottled independently by Adelphi Selection at 57.1% ABV. The whisky was distilled in 2009 and bottled in 2026, at 16 years old. It matured in a single refill Oloroso sherry hogshead, which gave 235 bottles. The refill cask lets the soft, fruity and gently waxy character of the distillery stay clearly in view. The cask is described as adding dried fruit, orange peel, chocolate and toasted nuts to the orchard fruit, honeyed malt and light floral notes of the spirit.
