This is a Glen Elgin single malt distilled in 1971 and bottled in 1985 by Samaroli, the Italian importer, at a natural strength of 50% ABV. It was a small batch of 1200 bottles, in a 75cl bottle. The nose is an unusual one, with coriander, green pepper and lovage alongside plum sauce and dried longans, then ham, blackberries and gingerbread. On the palate come dried fruits, sweet spices, ginger, lemon and a little mint, with a hint of coconut liqueur. The finish is long and candied, with crystallised quince and cinnamon.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
