This is a single cask Glen Elgin from Speyside, distilled in 1975 and bottled at 44 years old by Hunter Laing for their Old & Rare Heritage range. It is natural cask strength at 45.6%, in a 70cl bottle. The whisky is waxy and honeyed, and despite its long years in cask it keeps a fresh, fruity core with a pinch of citrus zest. It is a dark gold in colour. The nose brings candlewax, marzipan, nougat and manuka honey. On the palate come milk chocolate, orchard fruit, honeydew and orange zest. The finish is long, with vanilla and a drying touch of oak.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
