A 30 year old Glen Elgin single malt from Speyside, distilled in 1988 and bottled in 2019 by Wilson & Morgan at 51.1%. It comes in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky matured in a second fill cask, which gave tropical fruit aromas alongside the delicate, flowery character of the malt. The mouthfeel is robust, oily and thick, and the overall impression stays on the dry side.
Passion fruit, mango and a hint of grapefruit appear on both nose and palate, with chamomile, honey and beeswax. Pepper and mustard arrive late, ending in a spicy, tannic rush.
