This Glen Elgin was distilled in 2012 and bottled in 2024 at 46% by Wilson & Morgan for their Barrel Selection, in a 70cl bottle. It is a Speyside single malt, non-chill filtered.
The whisky first matured in bourbon casks and was then finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks.
The nose is usually described as dried fruits, honey and vanilla, with raisin, fig and chocolate from the sherry. The palate has caramel, baked apple and cinnamon alongside dark chocolate, dried cherries and nutmeg. The finish is long and warming, with sweet sherry, oak spice and a hint of dark chocolate.
