A 65 year old Glen Grant from Speyside, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail at a cask strength of 55.4% in a 70cl bottle. Gordon & MacPhail filled a first-fill sherry butt in 1956, the year La Maison du Whisky was founded, and the whisky was bottled on 15 December 2021 to mark that importer's 65th anniversary. Only 180 bottles were released.
The nose combines rich sherry aromas with toasted hazelnuts and beeswax polish. On the palate come smooth dark chocolate, Seville orange zest and ginger. The finish is full, with lingering garden mint and charred oak.
