A 12 year old Glenrothes from Speyside, bottled at 48.2% ABV as small batch #2 in the Signatory Vintage range. The whisky was distilled in 2011 and selected from oloroso sherry casks and bourbon casks.
The nose is fruity, like fruitcake with honey and sultanas, with a sprinkle of cane sugar over the top. The palate turns to sweet baking: vanilla fudge, shortbread, ginger honey and more buttery pastry.
