Glen Scotia – 10 Year Old First Fill Bourbon Barrel (70cl, 40%)

This is a 10 year old Campbeltown single malt from Glen Scotia, made from unpeated malt and matured entirely in first fill bourbon barrels. It is bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. The aim is a balance between distillery character and the influence of the wood. Seaspray, green fruit with a touch of citrus, creamy vanilla and gentle spice are the traits associated with the style. The nose brings seaspray, sliced apple, lemon zest and toasted oak. The palate is very syrupy, with melted brown sugar, orange marmalade, tangy pineapple and creamy vanilla oak. The finish is long, with gentle ground ginger and cinnamon.
