A 14 year old Campbeltown single malt from Glen Scotia, the second release in the Icons of Campbeltown series. It is a limited edition inspired by a local legend of a dragon watching over the town's distilleries.
The whisky matured for 14 years in first-fill bourbon barrels, then received a finish in Barolo red wine casks. It is of medium peat, bottled at batch strength of 56.8% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and without added colouring.
The nose has blueberries, blackberries, honey and vanilla, with fresh pastry. The palate brings smoke, dark cherries, candied grapes and wild berries on firm oak spice. The finish is long and dry, with lingering smoke, spicy oak and dark fruit.
