Glen Scotia 15 Year Old is a single malt from the Campbeltown distillery, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in American oak barrels before bottling.
The nose combines vanilla oak with sea spray and spicy, aromatic fruit, along with citrus peel and ginger biscuits. Apricot comes first and drifts towards fruit salad, and after a short while the wood comes forward.
On the palate it is drier than the nose suggests, with the fruit filling out gradually. A little water brings out caramelised notes alongside the wood. The finish is firm and slightly dry.
