Glen Scotia 18 Year Old is a Campbeltown single malt Scotch whisky, bottled at 46% in a 750ml bottle and non-chill-filtered.
It spends over 17 years in refill bourbon barrels and hogsheads. The selected casks are then vatted together for a final 12 months in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks. The distillery accepts a cloudier wort, which contributes to a heavier, oilier mouthfeel.
The nose is fresh, with coastal salinity and florals, then salted caramel, honey and an earthy note of mushroom. The palate is thick and creamy, with toffee, apricot, pineapple and sultanas. The finish is long and dry, with ginger, milk chocolate and oatcake.
