This is a cask strength single malt from GlenAllachie, a Speyside distillery near Aberlour, made under master distiller Billy Walker. Batch 11 comes in a new design and was bottled at a natural strength of 59.4% ABV.
It brings together malt matured in Pedro Ximénez, Oloroso, red wine and virgin oak casks.
The colour is deep mahogany. The nose has chocolate-covered coffee beans, honeycomb, syrup and cinnamon, with pancakes and caramel beneath. The palate shows rich layers of cocoa and dark chocolate, ashy toffee and dried red berries. The finish brings toasted hazelnuts, ginger, juicy plums, Black Forest gateau and a touch of liquorice.
