This is Batch 7 of the Glenallachie 10 Years Cask Strength, a Speyside single malt bottled at 56.8%. It is natural colour and not chill-filtered.
The whisky is a vatting of Rioja barriques, virgin oak casks and Oloroso sherry puncheons, chosen and blended by Billy Walker.
The nose brings heather honey, dried fruit, cinnamon, nutmeg, orange peel, mocha and molasses. On the palate there is dark chocolate, figs, more heather honey, raisins, cinnamon and plums, with a touch of orange zest. The finish carries orange peel, cinnamon and nutmeg.
