A 30-year-old single malt from GlenAllachie in Speyside, released as Batch 4 in a limited edition. Master distiller Billy Walker selected the casks: old sherry casks, together with three Pedro Ximénez and two Oloroso casks.
It was bottled at a cask strength of 49.1%, with no added colouring and no chill-filtration.
The nose shows dark chocolate, honeycomb and raisin butter, with hints of muscovado sugar, plum syrup and glazed almonds. On the palate come rich cocoa, heather honey and chocolate raisins, then baking spices and molasses. The finish brings Black Forest gateau, grape must and orchard fruits.
