GlenAllachie – 9 Year Old Fino Sherry Cask Finish (70cl, 48%)

This is a nine-year-old GlenAllachie single malt finished in Fino sherry casks, part of The Wood Collection. It is bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill filtered and with natural colour. Fino is the driest style of sherry, made by ageing the wine under a layer of yeast known as flor, and it is known for its pale appearance and delicate sweetness. The nose combines nutmeg, heather honey and vanilla with butterscotch, green apple peel, stone fruits and roasted almonds. The palate shows dried apricots, honeycomb and butterscotch, then baking spices, marzipan and caramel, and the finish is orchard fruits and citrus.
