GlenAllachie Meikle Tòir 5 Years The Original is a peated single malt from the Meikle Tòir line. It is made with mainland peat from St. Fergus at 35 ppm, which is sweeter in character than coastal peat. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring.
The whisky matured in first-fill bourbon barrels, virgin American oak casks and ex-rye casks. The box carries a hand-drawn illustration of the land around the distillery and Ben Rinnes by the artist Iain McIntosh.
The nose brings baking spices, burnt honey and espresso, with hazelnuts and butterscotch. The palate has sweet peat, rich chocolate and heather honey. The finish is baking spices and sweet peat.
