This is a 28-year-old Highland single malt from Glencadam, from 1991, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail for its Connoisseurs Choice range. It comes in a 70cl bottle at 41% ABV.
The whisky was matured in a single sherry puncheon, which gave 290 bottles. The Connoisseurs Choice series is built around individually selected casks.
The nose is sweet sherry with fresh ginger and treacle toffee, followed by raspberry, milk chocolate and a hint of citrus zest. On the palate come toasted almonds and baked apple, soft black pepper and blackcurrant, leading to mature oak. The finish is medium, with lingering spice and cocoa powder.
