Glendalough Double Barrel 2024 Design (70cl, 42%)

Glendalough Double Barrel is an Irish single grain whiskey, bottled at 42% in a 70cl bottle. It matures first in charred ex-bourbon casks of American oak, then finishes in slowly toasted Oloroso casks from Montilla in Spain. Glendalough chooses the bodega, the wine the casks previously held, the casks and the cooper itself. The packaging was renewed in 2024, while the whiskey inside keeps the same strength and bottle size. Tasting notes describe dark cherries, raisins and figs on the nose, butterscotch, honey and brown sugar on the palate, and ginger, a touch of almond and an earthy note in the finish.
