This is a single cask Irish pot still whiskey from Glendalough, made from a mixed mashbill. It spent three years in ex-bourbon American oak casks before a one year finish in virgin Irish oak.
Each bottle is numbered back through the cask and the batch to the 130 year old oak tree, felled in the mountains around the distillery, that supplied the wood.
The nose is sweet and citrusy, with vanilla, caramel, banana and treacle. The palate is chewy and buttery, with toffeed pears, spice and toasted oak. The finish is long, with creamy vanilla, almond and forest fruit.
