Glendalough – Pot Still Irish Whiskey (70cl, 43%)

This is a pot still Irish whiskey from the Glendalough Distillery, made from a mash of malted and unmalted barley and bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. The spirit first matured in American bourbon casks, then received a finish in casks made from Irish oak. The trees grew for around 130 to 140 years in the mountains around the distillery and were felled sustainably, so each bottle can be traced to a specific tree. The colour is natural. The nose is sweet, with intense caramel and fine vanilla. The palate is silky, with creamy toffee followed by gentle spice from the Irish oak.
