A 56-year-old single malt from GlenDronach, distilled in 1968 and bottled at 44.9% in a 70cl bottle. It was released for the distillery's bicentenary and is the oldest whisky GlenDronach has released, with 200 bottles in the edition.
The whisky matured for 56 years in Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks in the Highlands, and was bottled at natural cask strength.
The nose is rich with sherry, dark berries, raisins and orange peel, with dark cacao, caramelised dates and a little oud wood. The palate is full-bodied, with dark fruit, black cherry, Christmas spice, bittersweet chocolate and dried figs. The finish is long, with orange zest, toasted oak and dark chocolate.
