The name Allardice honours James Allardice, who founded the distillery. This 18 year old matured in sherry casks.
Production at GlenDronach resumed in 2002. BenRiach acquired the distillery in 2008, and in 2016 the American group Brown-Forman bought both BenRiach and GlenDronach.
