Glendronach – Ode To The Dark PX Cask (50.8%)

This is a Glendronach Highland single malt bottled at 50.8%. It is part of The Master's Anthology, a series of three bottlings made under master blender Dr Rachel Barrie as a tribute to the distillery's sherry cask maturation. It is matured only in Pedro Ximénez casks and is meant to stand for the dark, luxurious character of Glendronach. The nose has black cherries, dark chocolate, dates and figs, with a hint of mocha. The palate is sweet with caramel and dark fruit, and light espresso notes. The finish is long and fruity, with a pleasing note of dark chocolate.
