Glendronach – Ode To The Valley Port Cask (70cl, 46.2%)

This is a Glendronach Highland single malt bottled at 46.2% in a 70cl bottle. It belongs to The Master's Anthology, a series of three bottlings made under master blender Dr Rachel Barrie as a tribute to the distillery's sherry cask maturation. It shows the fruity, floral side of Glendronach, matured in a combination of sherry casks and ruby Port casks from Portugal's Douro Valley. The nose brings red berries, floral notes and a hint of honey. The palate is fruity and light, with nectar, red berries and some spice. The finish is fresh and harmonious, with a pleasant sweetness that lasts.
