GlenDronach Original 12 Year Old is a Highland single malt matured for at least 12 years entirely in Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks from Spain. The spirit goes straight into sherry wood, with no bourbon casks involved, so sherry shapes the whole character of the whisky.
The nose brings ripe cherries, raisins and dried apricots with hints of cinnamon and ginger. On the palate are dark chocolate, walnuts, candied orange and sweet sherry with subtle oak spice. The finish is long, warm and spicy, with lingering dark fruit and cocoa.
