Glenfarclas 1993 Family Cask Release V is a single cask Speyside malt, the fifth release in the Family Cask series. It comes from one ex-sherry butt, cask 3942.
The whisky was distilled in 1993 and bottled in 2010 at 17 years old. It is bottled at its natural cask strength of 59.7%, in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is rich with Christmas cake fruit, dark honey, molasses and a little cinnamon and pepper. On the palate cayenne pepper opens, giving way to molasses, raisins and cocoa. The finish is long, with rum cake, chocolate and lingering sweetness.
