Glenfarclas 1996 Rob Roy MacGregor is the 26th edition in the distillery's Famous Scots series. It was distilled in 1996, matured in sherry casks and bottled in 2024, with an outturn of 1,800 bottles.
The bottling honours Rob Roy MacGregor, a Scottish folk hero sometimes called the Robin Hood of Scotland.
The nose brings peach, apple, honey, orange and malt. The palate has an oily texture and plenty of fruit, including mango and figs, along with pastry and flowers, with spice and oak building towards the end. The finish is medium in length, with hints of pepper, chocolate and a bitter-sour note.
