This is the 2016 vintage Easter Edition from Glenfarclas, a single malt in a 70cl bottle at 46% ABV. It was matured in first-fill sherry and Oloroso sherry casks, and 3,600 bottles were released.
It is Edition No. 3 in the Easter series and was aged in the distillery's dunnage warehouses. The proportion of first-fill sherry casks is higher than in earlier Easter bottlings, and a newly introduced yeast was used.
The nose is led by sherry, with raisins, dates, dark dried fruit, orange peel, toffee, nuts and warm spices. The palate is full and round, with Oloroso sweetness, dark chocolate and caramelised fruit. The finish runs medium to long and warming, with cocoa and drying oak spice.
