Glenfarclas – Family Cask 1988 (56.4%)

This is a Glenfarclas Family Cask single malt from Speyside, distilled in 1988 and bottled at 56.4%. Glenfarclas is owned by the Grant family, who have held the distillery since 1865. John Grant, originally a cattle farmer, bought the distillery along with Recherlich Farm in 1865 for 511 pounds. Six generations of the family have worked in whisky since, and Glenfarclas is one of the few Scottish distilleries still in family hands. That continuity has allowed it to keep using older methods of making whisky.
