Glenglassaugh – 12 Years

This is a 12 year old single malt from Glenglassaugh, a coastal distillery that lit its stills again in 2008 after more than two decades of silence. It arrived in 2023 as a new core bottling. The whisky is drawn from bourbon, sherry and red wine casks, and was overseen by master blender Rachel Barrie. The nose brings apricots, figs, candied nuts and a light sea breeze. Sweet stone fruit carries onto the palate with toasted vanilla and creamy hazelnut meringue. The finish is gently salted cherry chocolate, with lingering nuttiness, candied pistachios and a hint of cereal bar.
