This is The First Cask, a three-year-old Glenglassaugh from the Highland distillery. It was distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2011, exactly three years after the refurbished distillery re-opened in December 2008.
It comes from a single sherry butt, cask number 1, and 650 bottles were filled. The refill butt was first filled on 16 December 2008. The spirit was later divided between a first fill ex-PX sherry hogshead and a first fill ex-Palo Cortado sherry hogshead, then returned to the refill butt for a further three months. It is bottled at 59.1% ABV.
