Glenglassaugh – 2009 Rare Cask Release Port Pipe 11 Year Old (70cl, 55.4%)

Glenglassaugh Rare Cask Release is an 11 year old Highland single malt, distilled in 2009 and bottled by the distillery in 2020. It comes in a 70cl bottle at 55.4% ABV. It is a single cask release, matured in a port pipe, and 843 individually numbered bottles were produced. The cask gives a deep colour and a rich, fruity character, with a subtle salty edge from the coastal distillery. The nose shows red fruit, cherries, dark wood and soft spices. The palate is rich and jammy, with berries, dark chocolate and soft tannins. The finish is long and warming.
