Glenglassaugh – 2014 8 Year Old Infrequent Flyers

This is a Glenglassaugh single malt, distilled on 8 September 2014 and bottled in March 2023 at 8 years old. It was finished in a virgin oak barrel, cask 2370, and only 263 bottles were filled. It is Batch 12, Release No. 114 from Infrequent Flyers, bottled by Alistair Walker. The nose is sweet and nutty, like a raid on the biscuit tin, with custard cream, shortbread, toasted coconut and strawberry yoghurt. The palate is rich and viscous, with a youthful liveliness. The virgin oak shows in honeycomb, Madagascan vanilla and marzipan, with a hint of cinnamon bun and sweet, spicy pepper.
