This is a 37 year old Glenglassaugh from the Highlands, distilled in 1986 and matured in a refill bourbon barrel. Gordon & MacPhail bottled it in April 2024 in its Connoisseurs Choice range.
It was bottled at a natural cask strength of 52.5% ABV, without chill-filtration or added colouring, and has a deep amber colour.
The nose is honey sweetness with tropical fruit, in particular ripe pineapple and mango, and a touch of lime zest. The palate is full and creamy, with red apples, banana, white chocolate and a subtle oak spice. The long finish brings juicy pear and malted biscuit.
