Glenglassaugh Evolution is a Speyside single malt matured in first-fill ex-Tennessee whiskey casks. It is bottled at 50%, without chill-filtering and with its natural colour. The distillery was revived in 2013, when Billy Walker took over and began a full renovation. Brown-Forman bought it in 2016. Evolution is presented as a bottling of that revival. The nose is sweet barley, buttery vanilla and caramelised pear, with pineapple and oak spice. The palate is creamy and full, with green apple, banana and salted caramel, and the finish is long and soft with vanilla, coconut and liquorice.
