Portsoy is a peated Highland single malt from Glenglassaugh, bottled at 49.1% in a 70cl bottle. It is matured in sherry, bourbon and port casks, in warehouses a few miles from the harbour village of Portsoy, where salty sea air reaches the spirit.
The nose brings tropical fruit and sherried dark soy, then port, liquorice and sea kelp. On the palate it is full-bodied, with dark chocolate, fermented soy, charred mango, treacle and a crack of sea salt.
