Glenglassaugh Portsoy is a heavily peated Speyside single malt, named after the harbour town next to the distillery. It was made under master blender Rachel Barrie, after the distillery began producing again in 2008.
The whisky matured in a selection of sherry, bourbon and port casks, and has a smoky, maritime character.
The nose combines tropical fruit, earthy peat, toffee and milk chocolate. On the palate, chocolatey malt sits with grilled pineapple and syrupy toffee. The finish is long, with maritime peat smoke, peppery oak, seaweed and salted liquorice.
