Glenglassaugh – Sandend 50.5% (70cl, 50.5%)

Sandend is a Glenglassaugh single malt bottled at 50.5% in a 70cl bottle. It combines whisky matured in bourbon, sherry and manzanilla casks. The name comes from Sandend Bay, the beach beside which the distillery stands. Glenglassaugh treats the bottling as a celebration of the bay, which it calls a "nature lover's paradise". The nose brings peaches, sweet coastal honeycomb and ice cream. On the palate there is chewy toffee and salted caramel with fresh orange zest. The finish is tarry dried fruit rinds alongside sweet-shop notes of dolly mixture and marshmallows.
