Glenglassaugh – Sandend

Glenglassaugh Sandend is an unpeated single malt matured in a mix of bourbon, sherry and manzanilla casks. It is named after Sandend Bay, near the distillery on the north Aberdeenshire coast, where master blender Rachel Barrie spent time as a child and learned to surf. It forms part of the core range introduced in 2023, after the stills were restarted in 2008. The nose offers buttery fudge, vanilla ice cream, candied mango and salted papaya. The palate has tablet, mango and toasted vanilla with boiled pineapple sweets and creamy barley. The finish brings grapefruit, juicy berries, vanilla, butterscotch and a distant coastal breeze.
