Glenglassaugh – Sandend (70cl, 50.5%)

Glenglassaugh Sandend is a coastal Highland single malt, bottled at 50.5% in a 70cl bottle. It is matured in a mix of bourbon, sherry and manzanilla casks, with the manzanilla adding a briny brightness and the other casks bringing creaminess and sweetness. The distillery sits above Sandend Bay, which gives the bottle its name. Tropical fruit, vanilla cream, sea spray and soft honey lead the nose. The palate offers pineapple, apricot, malted barley, coconut, light citrus and a gentle salinity. The finish is medium to long, sweet, with soft oak and a clean seaside lift.
