Glenglassaugh Sandend is a Highland single malt bottled at 50.5% in a 70cl bottle. It takes its name from Sandend Bay, the crescent-shaped bay near the distillery, and was blended by Rachel Barrie.
The whisky was matured in bourbon, sherry and Manzanilla casks, and is marked by an intense, tropical sweetness.
The nose offers buttery vanilla ice cream with tropical fruit, chocolate and a little sea salt. On the palate come waves of salted caramel, then fresh pineapple, cherries and grapefruit, with a coastal freshness. The finish is long and sweet, with a tingling close.
